Along Constitution Avenue (between 7th and 9th), arriving a few minutes after 4:00pm.  The D.C. police arrived a few minutes later with tote bags of indeterminate contents. These dedicated people had the duty to watch the crowd, even as the procession was passing, and so missed much of the experience. In spite of this, they were friendly and polite, and added to the dignity of the occasion.
